Chiropractic for Headaches Dubai: What If the Headache Isn’t the Problem?
Chiropractic for headaches Dubai starts with a question we think more people should ask: why does the headache keep coming back?
If you get a headache and take aspirin, the headache may disappear. But was your headache caused by a lack of aspirin? Probably not. So if it comes back tomorrow, next week or every time work gets busy, perhaps there is something else worth understanding.
At ONE Chiropractic Studio Dubai, that’s where we like to start. Rather than only asking how we can make you feel better today, we want to understand what could be contributing to the headache in the first place.
Why Do I Keep Getting Headaches?
Headaches are incredibly common, but there isn’t one simple explanation for all of them. Stress, sleep, dehydration, illness, medication, migraine and many other factors can play a role.
But sometimes the neck is part of the picture. If your headache tends to arrive with a stiff neck, tight shoulders or an ache around the base of your skull, that’s interesting. If it appears after eight hours at your laptop, that’s interesting too.
And what if you’ve noticed that your neck doesn’t turn as easily as it used to? Or that your headaches almost always appear after the same kind of day?
The headache might be where you feel the problem. That doesn’t automatically mean it’s where the problem starts.
Your Head Doesn't Float Above Your Body
It sounds obvious, but we often talk about headaches as though the head exists independently from everything underneath it.
It doesn’t. Your head sits on top of your cervical spine, surrounded by a complex system of joints, muscles and nerves that allow you to move, sense and respond to the world around you.
Now think about what we do to that system every day. Laptop, phone, car, laptop again, phone again. Repeat that for years.
Research into modern technology use has raised questions about the amount of time we spend looking at screens and the sustained positions that come with it. The research material we’ve reviewed also highlights how mechanical loading on the cervical spine increases as the head moves forwards and downwards.
Does that mean looking at your phone causes headaches? No. But if you’re experiencing headaches alongside neck pain, stiffness and hours of screen use every day, isn’t it worth looking at how your neck is actually functioning?
Could Your Neck Be Contributing to Your Headaches?
For some people, yes. One recognised type is a cervicogenic headache, where pain originates from structures in the neck but is perceived as pain in the head.
This isn’t simply a chiropractic theory. A 2026 clinical practice guideline reviewing 32 systematic reviews and guidelines found high-certainty evidence supporting spinal manipulation for cervicogenic headache, alongside recommendations for exercise and multimodal approaches.
That makes the neck particularly interesting to us as chiropractors. Does your headache begin around the back of your head? Does your neck feel stiff at the same time? Does turning your head seem to change the symptoms?
A chiropractor for headaches can assess your cervical spine and determine whether mechanical factors in your neck could be relevant to what you’re experiencing. That’s very different from assuming every headache needs an adjustment.

Are Headaches Just Something We Should Silence?
Imagine your smoke alarm starts screaming at 3am. You could remove the batteries and go back to bed, but you’d probably want to know why the alarm went off first.
Pain isn’t exactly the same thing, of course, but it’s an interesting way to think about symptoms. Getting rid of pain matters, especially when you’re suffering, but reducing the sensation doesn’t necessarily explain why it appeared.
Why this headache? Why now? Why does it keep returning? Why do you get one after certain days but not others? Those questions are much more interesting to us than simply asking, “How do we make it stop?”
Dubai Life Gives Your Neck Plenty to Deal With
Spend a day watching people around Dubai and you’ll see heads down over phones everywhere. Add long working days behind laptops, meetings on screens and plenty of time sitting in the car, and some people’s necks spend an enormous part of the day in similar positions.
Then we squeeze in the gym, golf, tennis, running or padel before doing it all again tomorrow. The human body is remarkably adaptable, but adaptation works both ways.
Our source material on “text neck” discusses prolonged forward-head posture and the increased mechanical demands placed on the cervical spine. It also cites research linking poor posture with headaches among a wider range of complaints.
We’re not interested in frightening people into thinking their phone is destroying their spine. We’re interested in a much simpler question: what happens when you ask your body to do the same thing for thousands of hours?
Can Chiropractic Help With Headaches?
It depends on the headache, and that’s an important distinction.
Research is strongest for certain cervicogenic headaches. A systematic review and meta-analysis found small short-term improvements in pain intensity, headache frequency and disability from spinal manipulation for cervicogenic headache, although the authors also highlighted limitations in the evidence.
The evidence isn’t identical for every type of headache. For tension-type headaches, for example, current guidance favours a multimodal approach rather than spinal manipulation used on its own.
That’s why at ONE we don’t want to put every person with a headache into the same box. We want to know what your headache feels like, when it happens, how long it lasts and what else is happening at the same time.

What About Migraines?
A migraine isn’t simply a really bad headache. It’s a neurological disorder that can involve headache alongside nausea, visual symptoms and sensitivity to light or sound.
Someone searching for a migraine chiropractor may have already spent years trying to understand their migraines. We aren’t going to tell that person that every migraine comes from their neck or promise that an adjustment will cure it.
What we can do is assess whether neck pain, restricted movement or other musculoskeletal factors are also present. Chiropractic care may form one part of someone’s broader management, but migraine needs to be recognised for what it is.
Sometimes the most valuable thing an examination tells us is that someone needs a different type of healthcare. We’re perfectly comfortable with that.
Your First Visit at ONE
Your first visit starts with your story. When did the headaches begin? Where do you feel them? How frequently do they happen? What does a bad week look like compared with a good one?
Then we start looking for patterns. Does your neck hurt? Is movement restricted? Does your job involve hours behind a screen? Have you had previous neck injuries? What happens when you’re stressed, tired or travelling?
After that, we’ll examine how your spine and body are moving. We’re not looking for an excuse to adjust you; we’re trying to build a picture that actually makes sense.
If we think chiropractic care is appropriate, we’ll explain why. If we don’t, we’ll tell you that too.
When a Headache Needs Medical Attention
Most headaches aren’t caused by something dangerous, but headaches shouldn’t automatically be assumed to be coming from the neck. Part of assessing someone properly is recognising when the story doesn’t fit.
A sudden and extremely severe headache, a significantly different or worsening headache, or one accompanied by symptoms such as weakness, confusion, fainting, seizures, fever, difficulty speaking or significant visual disturbance requires appropriate medical assessment.
Good healthcare isn’t about trying to treat everybody who walks through your door. Sometimes it’s about knowing when someone needs to walk through a different one.
Headache Treatment Dubai – Ask a Better Question
When your head is pounding in the middle of a meeting, you understandably want it gone. But if this is your twentieth headache this year, perhaps there’s another question worth asking.
Why does it keep happening?
Good headache treatment Dubai should begin by understanding the type of headache and the person experiencing it. For some people the answer may involve their neck and spine; for others it might involve migraine management, sleep, stress, medication, eyesight or another healthcare professional.
Our job isn’t to force chiropractic into the answer. It’s to work out whether it belongs there.

A Different Approach at ONE Chiropractic Studio Dubai
ONE Chiropractic started in 2019 with a simple idea: chiropractic should be personal, and we should spend more time understanding the person rather than simply chasing symptoms.
Across the ONE Chiropractic network, we’ve now delivered more than 250,000 patient visits. Despite that growth, the important part hasn’t changed: one person, one chiropractor and enough time to actually understand what’s happening.
Our Dubai studio is based in Platinum Tower, Cluster I, JLT, conveniently located for JLT, Dubai Marina, The Greens, Emirates Hills, Jumeirah Heights, JVC and surrounding areas.
If headaches are becoming a regular part of your life, perhaps it’s time to stop asking only how to get rid of them and start asking why they’re there.
Because your headache probably isn’t an aspirin deficiency.
Book your first visit at ONE Chiropractic Studio Dubai and let’s take a proper look.

Frequently Asked Questions About Scoliosis
Can a chiropractor help with headaches?
Yes, chiropractic care may help with certain types of headaches, particularly when the neck is involved. Cervicogenic headaches, for example, originate from structures in the cervical spine and can be felt as pain in the head. A chiropractor can assess your neck, spinal movement and other factors to determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate.
Can neck problems cause headaches?
Yes. Certain headaches can originate from joints, muscles and other structures within the neck. If your headaches regularly occur alongside neck stiffness, restricted movement or pain around the base of your skull, your cervical spine may be worth assessing.
What is a cervicogenic headache?
A cervicogenic headache is a headache caused by a problem within the neck, with pain referred into the head. Symptoms can sometimes be accompanied by reduced neck movement or neck discomfort, and the headache may be aggravated by particular movements or sustained positions.
Can chiropractic help with migraines?
Migraine is a neurological condition and chiropractic should not be presented as a cure for migraine. However, some people with migraines also experience neck pain or restricted cervical movement. A migraine chiropractor can assess whether these musculoskeletal factors are present and whether chiropractic care could appropriately form part of a broader management approach.
Can poor posture cause headaches?
Posture isn’t the cause of every headache, but prolonged or sustained positions can affect the muscles and joints of the neck. For someone spending many hours working at a laptop or looking down at a phone, it’s worth considering whether neck function could be contributing to recurring headaches.
How do I know if my headache is coming from my neck?
Clues can include headaches occurring alongside neck pain or stiffness, reduced neck movement, symptoms beginning around the neck or base of the skull, or headaches aggravated by certain neck positions. These signs don’t prove that your neck is causing the headache, which is why an appropriate assessment is important.
What does a chiropractor do for headaches?
At ONE Chiropractic Studio Dubai, we first take a detailed history to understand your headaches and look for patterns. We then assess your neck, spine and movement to determine whether mechanical factors could be contributing. If chiropractic care is appropriate, we’ll explain what we’ve found and recommend an individual approach rather than automatically treating every headache the same way.
When should I see a doctor rather than a chiropractor for a headache?
A sudden, extremely severe or unusual headache should be medically assessed, particularly if it occurs with symptoms such as weakness, confusion, fainting, seizures, fever, difficulty speaking or significant changes in vision. If something during your consultation suggests chiropractic isn’t the appropriate place to start, we will recommend further medical assessment.
Where can I find a chiropractor for headaches in Dubai?
ONE Chiropractic Studio Dubai is located in Platinum Tower, Cluster I, JLT. We see patients from JLT, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Heights, The Greens, Emirates Hills, JVC and across Dubai who are looking for an assessment of recurring headaches, neck pain and spinal function.
